I first subscribed to “A Minute With Maxwell” on July 7, 2012 after opening a new Twitter account for masterjournaler. John Maxwell’s video coaching on leadership is the best I have come across.
According to John, “‘A Minute with Maxwell’ is like a path to success. It’s a video coaching program where I come along side of you each day, teach you the meaning of a word and add value to your life. And then you can ‘spread the word’ and inspire others around the world. Just one word a day can make a big difference in your life-and those of many others!”
On Friday July 27, John’s word of the day was EMPOWERED. This word and John’s teaching about it really hit home to me because the purpose of Empower 2000, my parent company, is EMPOWERING DREAMS.

EMPOWER means “To give somebody power or authority” and also “To give somebody a sense of confidence or self-esteem.”
People are always motivated and inspired when they feel empowered. And when they feel motivated and inspired by you, they’d be excited to help you achieve whatever you want.
That’s exactly where Zig Ziglar’s famous quote comes to life when he said, “You can only get what you want, if you help enough other people get what they want.”
My mentor, my coach always says, “The best way to help somebody to empower them, to teach them how to FISH so they could feed their spirit by themselves whenever they need rather than feeding them when they are hungry. Feeding doesn’t help because they would feed hungry again.”
Let’s take this Friday challenge and EMPOWER one more person today and this weekend and make this world, a better place!
